When COVID hit, I almost lost everything.

Patreon saved me.

We were always told to diversify our income streams, "just in case." You couldn't just rely on affiliate sales or sponsored content or going viral or ranking in the top 3 on Google or YouTube or Etsy, so we diversified. 


Well, here came a disaster none of us could have predicted. It was the living definition of "just in case." 


I work in travel, one of the industries hit hardest by COVID. Each day in March, my display advertising income dropped head over heels. Traffic plummeted, affiliate commissions ceased, campaigns were canceled, and suddenly I had lost 90% of my income. 


Even if your industry was less affected, like food or DIY, and your income remained steady (or even grew!), COVID was a wake-up call for many creators. You could be prepared for anything and lose your income anyway. 


I needed to make money, and I had an audience who loved my writing. So I started a Patreon full of travel stories as a way to make up for my income loss.

With my patrons Nathan, Sarah, and Stacey in Puerto Vallarta -- nearly two years after starting my Patreon!

Did it work? IT WORKED GREAT! My fans were thrilled to support me on Patreon. All along, I had people who wanted to support me and my work. 


They became my patrons, my benefactors, my biggest cheerleaders. I wondered whether it was appropriate to launch a Patreon in a time when the world was facing record unemployment and economic anxiety. 


Turns out I didn't have to worry. While many people are struggling, quite a few people haven't been economically impacted at all. In fact, they have MORE money to spend than usual because they're not traveling or going out to eat. 


Patreon gave me what I needed: a steady income in the time of COVID. 


It's been two years, and I still have it.

Most people know me as Adventurous Kate -- the girl who quit her job at age 26 to travel the world alone. That was 12 years ago!


For the past decade, I've been earning my full-time living as a self-employed travel blogger, teaching women how to travel solo safely from Colombia to Lebanon to Antarctica.

    This course will take you through every step of running a Patreon -- from the very beginning until you're several months in, all laid out in clear, easy order.

    The course is laid out in eight modules, each containing 2-4 lessons, and each is told in the form of videos. At the end of each module, you'll have work to do in the form of worksheets.

    There is a Facebook group for support throughout the process.
  • Can you guarantee results?
    Like any other course in the world, you will only get results if you do the work. In this course, doing the work means watching all the lessons and actively doing the worksheets -- not just briefly looking at them and thinking about how you'd answer.

    If you make an active commitment to building a strong Patreon and doing the lessons, you will be in an excellent position to succeed -- and infinitely further ahead than if you decided to go it alone.
  • I don't have much free time. Can I do this at my own pace?
    Absolutely! We're all busy people, and I don't expect you to conform to someone else's schedule. The course material is designed to do at whatever speed works for you.
